The actor was born Jonathan Bass on September 22, 1986 in Bellaire, Texas, United States. He was also brought up there.

Of American nationality and Jewish ethnicity not much is known about his father, but his mother’s name is Rhonda Bass. She has been very supportive of his career since he was a child and decided that acting was what he wanted to do. He was raised the third of four children; Oren Bass, Benjamin Bass and Rivkah Bass (aka Rikki).

The Texas actor’s education at Weiner Middle School, where his music teacher Larry Dachslager introduced him to the works of Woody Allen, inspired him from an early age. Jon Bass later attended Bellaire High School, graduating in 2005. There his theater director Paul Munson helped him on his way. While there he was mainly interested in theatrical arts and anything acting related. For this reason, he decided to continue his education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater Arts from Boston University.

After graduating, he moved to New York City, hoping he would be the next big actor. This didn’t go as planned and so he moved on to other jobs before landing some roles in Off-Broadway plays which were pretty bad.

Not too long later he landed his role on Broadway, Book of Mormon thanks to his agent and manager. From then on he was able to launch his career to the fullest.

He first appeared in a short film, Advised as Evan in 2012 and after that he was in another short film The Refrigerator as Howie in 2014. In 2015, Jon Bass appeared in the horror thriller film Ratter in which he portrayed Greg. That same year he landed the role of Steve in Jane Wants a Boyfriend which was followed by the portrayal of Philip Hirschkop in the 2016 film, Loving.

2017 was a very busy year for him as he starred in a number of films such as Night Through as Trevor, Baywatch which is among his most popular works as Ronnie Greenbaum, and Molly’s Game He was also in the short films, After the Party and Meet Cute His most recent films are Dog Days (2018), Sword of Trust (2019) and Plus One (2019).

Although more popular for his roles as a film actor, Jon Bass has also done some things on television. He landed his debut role in 2014 when he appeared on an episode of Girls Also that same year, he took on the role of Shady PA on an episode of Next Time On Lonny and Then Bree Dorrit on the HBO drama series, Newsroom Big Time in Hollywood, FL became his first major role on television in 2015 and then in 2016 he was in American Horror Story: Roanoke. His last work on television was in Miracle Workers in 2019.
